The City of Dayton wants to make sure everyone knows the city is a great place to live, learn, work, and play in the 21st Century. Therefore, DayNet, the city’s new high-speed internet service, and the City of Dayton’s Community Center staff have joined forces to host DayGaCom.
DayGaCom, May 7-9, 2021, is a pop culture extravaganza combining a comic book convention known as a comic-con, family-friendly board games, laser tag events, wrestling matches, and food trucks.
“We are looking forward to hosting a new kind of family-friendly event at our community center,” stated City Manager Theo Melancon. “Amanda Wilson and her staff are working hard to make this a memorable weekend for all attendees. We also appreciate the support from DayNet. And are glad the DayNet staff will be on hand to introduce people to the advantages of having high-speed internet run by our city, as a utility – for our citizens.”
During the event, fans dressed up as their favorite cartoon hero or villain can enter costume competitions. All three nights of the event will feature an outdoor movie at the gazebo. A gaming truck will also provide entertainment. For people who enjoy games, there will be tabletop and electronic game options inside the community center located at 801 S Cleveland St, Dayton, TX 77535.
DayNet will be available in fall 2021. It will give virtually every home, business, and community anchor organization in Dayton, TX, access to ultra-high-speed broadband internet. DayNet high-speed, fiber-optic broadband services will deliver 1 Gbps speeds for homes with future expansion to 10 Gbps services. Businesses will also have access to the same speed services. DayNet will facilitate even greater speeds for large companies up to 100 Gbps.
